Who Am I?
A passionate teacher with over 15 years tutoring experience and ten years’ experience as an Officer in the British Army; mentoring students and colleagues has been key to the success I have had.
One to one and group sessions are conducted in a relaxed, but professional environment; the purpose-built teaching space offers a calm and stress-free atmosphere for students to feel comfortable learning subjects they may find challenging.
Getting the answer correct in a test or exam is just one piece of the puzzle. With me, students will travel on a journey, where they will learn the content of the chosen topic, understand why it’s relevant in ‘real life’ and subsequently develop the skill of applying their understanding. This ensures success in exams due to a full rounded knowledge of the subject.
My programs
One to one session for GCSE maths
(from year 9).
One-to-one maths lessons tailored to the student’s needs. An initial assessment will be provided, where all the fundamental areas of maths are explored. Any gaps in knowledge will be identified and these areas will be developed. Knowledge in all areas is then built on, as well as the skill to apply this knowledge to problem type questions.
GCSE Science – Group sessions General Information
Peer learning is a powerful tool. The group sessions (maximum 4 students per group), the group are led by myself through a session topic, exploring it from the beginning to end, showing the relevance and importance. Students are encouraged to contribute during discussions, but there is no pressure to do so. Therefore, quieter students can still gain from these sessions.

(Year 11)
The group sessions are divided into physics and chemistry and each course will focus on one topic area. Students will be provided with the course topics for the whole academic year and can opt for the course they wish to study. Following the learning content in the sessions, exam style questions are completed to show how knowledge is applied for exam success.
Biology lessons will need to be booked as one to one lessons.

Students will have completed one year of their GCSE syllabus. These group sessions will take the fundamental science topics from year 9 and develop them further. Exam style questions are introduced and designed to build up the skills required to answer exam questions successfully.
GCSE Science – Group sessions
(Year 9)
Students will be entering the first year of GCSE science syllabus. These group sessions will use the fundamental concepts in each science taught in year 9 to explore the science and maths skills needed to be successful in the exams students take in year 11.
One to one session for GCSE science
(from year 9).
If group sessions are not suitable, one to one science lessons can be conducted. They will take the same format for the group science sessions, but on an individual level. If at any point the student would like to switch to the group lessons, there will be a seamless transition to group lessons.
A-Level Chemistry – One to One sessions
With a Masters Degree in Chemistry and an extensive understanding of the chemistry syllabus, I can aid with the jump from GCSE to A-Level chemistry in year 12, as well as prepare students for exams in year 13. All topics are explored, linking relevance to the ‘real world’ and further developing the skill of applying the understanding in exam questions required at A-Level.
